The Gorongosa in Mozambique was once the lost Eden of Africa. This jewel is being rediscovered slowly and most importantly, many species are being re-introduced. Decades of civil war and intense poaching have decimated this amazing land. The stories of the Gorongosa must be told, and this land protected. Painted dogs are amongst the most recent additions and they are thriving. I was very fortunate to experienced three encounters, after so many years of trials in other parks. A group of 27 individuals are roaming the area near Chitengo. These amazing hunters rarely miss their target. With more than 50,000 Waterbucks in the area, I think this pack will have a bright future.
