Part of the greater Yellowstone ecosystem

The Teton fault with 10.6km of vertical relief is a gigantic normal fault separating the Teton range, uplifted in the footwall, from the flat sediment filled valley floor. The topography in the valley is due to various episodes of glaciations forming many moraine lakes.
